Innovania, located in one of the most biodiverse regions in North America, is a great place to experience nature. The nearby Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge is one of the only places left in the U.S. with a wild ocelot population (along with 45 other mammals). There are also 44 types of reptiles (including sea turtles) 417 species of birds, 130 species of butterflies, and 450 varieties of plants; what more could you want?
The World Birding Center is also within close proximity.
A little further east is South Padre Island which offers thirty-four miles of white sand beaches, deep sea fishing, magnificent sand dunes, water sports, horseback riding, etc. The area is a popular resort with numerous hotels and restaurants. In March each year, thousands of college students descend on the area for annual Spring Break festivities.
